Reppit vs Hevy

Hevy is good. Millions of people use it, the logging is fast, and since February it writes and adjusts programs too. If you have read a comparison saying it cannot do that, it was written before Hevy Trainer shipped. So here is the honest version, including the parts where we lose.

What Hevy does well

  • Hevy's logger is excellent and its free tier is generous.
  • Hevy Trainer creates adaptive programs with progressive overload built in.
  • HevyGPT lets ChatGPT build a routine and push it into your Hevy library.
  • Hevy is a launch partner in Strava's strength release, so your lifting reaches Strava's audience.

Where Reppit is behind

  • No offline mode. If your gym has no signal, your sets do not save. That is the worst thing about us right now.
  • No Apple Watch or Wear OS app.
  • Far fewer people use Reppit, so there is no pile of routines to copy yet.

Which to pick

Switch if you have ever looked at a prescribed weight and wanted to know where it came from. Reppit will tell you: the rule that set it, and the paper behind the rule. And it asks before it changes anything, instead of moving your working weights while you are not looking. Stay on Hevy if you are there for the size of the network. That is a real reason and we are not going to argue you out of it.
